Help Me Pick Your Favorite Caption

Mashed Potatoes Cartoon

Now that the entries are in, it’s time to pick your favorite. Thanks’ again to everyone who sent in a caption for the RG Mashing Potatoes cartoon. There were some very funny comments.

This time around I’m going to ask you to choose your favorite caption from a group of four that I picked out. With my new Cooking Community Forum, I can offer you polls and get your opinions on culinary questions and cartoon captions. So if you haven’t seen it yet, check it out at The Reluctant Goumet Cooking Community

You have to sign up to vote or leave a comment but it only takes a minute or two to do so. And while you’re at it, be sure to introduce yourself at the Say Hello to the Group forum.  Just start a “new topic” and say hello. The Register button is at the top of the page.

This cooking community is brand new so I welcome you to get involved, ask questions, provide answers and get to know the other members of the group. The forum is there to help us be better cooks. If you have a tip or recipe you think the rest of the group would enjoy, please contribute.

If you have a question that you would like answered, please ask it. And of course, if you can answer someone’s question, please do. Most importantly, be nice and respect each other.

Thanks and look forward to seeing your favorite caption.

My Favorite Grilling Cartoon Captions

September 9th, 2007 by RG in Cooking Cartoons

First, I would like to say thank you to everyone who sent in a cartoon caption. They were all great. Some different, but I enjoyed everyone of them.

In the end, I couldn’t pick just one so I decided to choose two of my favorites to print on tee shirts at Cafe Press and I will be contacting the two who sent the captions in for mailing instructions.

I’m hoping this is something you all enjoyed. If so, we can do it again with another cartoon in the future. Thanks again.

Here are two of my favorites:

Josh Baugher sent in “Honey, I’ve got everything under control.”

Grilling Cartoon Fireman

and Evelyn sent in “It’s not burnt, it’s Cajun!”

Barbecue Cartoon

If you would like a tee shirt, grilling apron, or coffee mug with one of these cartoons on them, they are now available at my Reluctant Gourmet Cafe Press. Plus you can find some of my other cartoons printed on all sorts of stuff.

Help Me Caption a Cooking Cartoon

August 30th, 2007 by RG in Food & Cooking, Barbecue/Grill, Cooking Cartoons

You may have noticed my attempt at culinary humor with my Reluctant Gourmet™ Cooking Cartoons. I thought it would be fun to look at various situations I’ve experienced or imagined I might experience in my kitchen and offer you a glimpse in the form of a cartoon. It’s great fun but not as easy as you might think to come up with funny captions.

Try Your Hand at Some Cooking Humor

I thought you might enjoy adding some of your own humor to one of my cartoons so I’m asking you to help me caption the cartoon below. All you have to do is go to the bottom of the page and “Leave a reply”.  You can add as many captions as you like. All I ask is that you keep them clean and be respectful of your fellow readers. Any caption that I feel is not appropriate will be deleted.

Not a Contest But…

This is not a contest but I will choose what I think is the funniest caption and make the cartoon available on a tee shirt at Café Press. I may even be able to send the author of the caption a free tee shirt with their caption printed on it. That means all entries become the property of The Reluctant Gourmet™. Please read Small Print below.
