What are my favorite Cooking Magazines and which do I recommend for home cooks?

There are three cooking magazines that I highly recommend to every home cook who wants to improve their cooking technique as well as learn some new recipes. These are Fine Cooking, Cooks Illustrated and Cuisine. The first two you can purchase at discount at BlueDolphin but Cuisine you have to go to their web site to order.

There are also a bunch of great cooking magazines that go way beyond cooking and get into regional cuisines, travel, restaurants and decorations. Some of these include Gourmet and Saveur. All terrific cooking magazine and all a little bit different.

Below you will find some more information about each of these magazines but I recommend you click on the link that takes you to learn more about them, subscribe or send one as a gift.

I also have a page for my Favorite Cookbooks as well as a new page on my Favorite eCookbooks you may want to check out.

Fine Cooking

Fine Cooking – One of my all time favorites!

My favorite cooking magazine is easy to read and understand with lots of great tips and ideas. I like the amount of the information they give you and how it is presented to you. Great photography. It is a true ‘cooking’ magazine.

Cooks Illustrated

Cook’s Illustrated

This is also one of my favorites. I have learned as much from this magazine as any other. And best of all, there are no advertisements! If you are serious about learning how to cook, you will want to check this one out.

Bon Appetit

Bon Appetit

I have been subscribing to Bon Appetit for years. More than just recipes, this magazine looks at entertaining, traveling, kitchen design, restaurants and a lot more. It is much more than a cooking magazine but a cooking lifestyle read.

 Food & Wine

Food & Wine

There are a lot of dated Food & Wines in my closet. One of the first culinary magazines I subscribed to and one of the most popular. Great recipes, great articles by some of your favorite cookbook authors and a great way to learn about matching food with wine.

 Saveur

Saveur

I say, “I used to subscribe to Saveur and I enjoyed every copy or at least as much as I got to each month. There is no better food magazine for incredible photography and to learn about individual ingredients. More about food than cooking.”

Saveur
