About the Institute of Technology Modesto, CA

The Institute of Technology has three campuses in California and prepares students for careers in allied health, network technology, computer technology, web and graphic design, computerized accounting, and culinary arts.  Courses are meant to put students into the work field as soon as possible.  They are fast-paced and focused on industry standards.  Students learn by doing in this professional atmosphere.  From quality education to job placement services, students are encouraged and supported throughout their Institute of Technology training.

 

Culinary Arts Specialist Program - Diploma

culinary arts school clovis californiaThis program teaches the basics of food safety and sanitation, as well as the skills needed to become successful in the culinary arts field.  Students become proficient in preparing desserts and other baked goods, such as French and classic cuisine, as well as many more kinds of cuisine. 

An externship, in which students work in a professional setting under established chefs, is also available.  Upon completion of the Culinary Arts Specialist program, students will be eligible for American Culinary Certification in Safety and Sanitation, Supervisory Management, and Nutrition.  This will make a graduate of the Institute of Technology even more marketable. 

Baking & Pastry Specialist

In this accelerated program, students learn to prepare and present specialty breads, cakes, desserts, chocolates, tarts, pies and tortes.  Students get plenty of hands-on experience in the professional kitchens and also learn how to use the tools of their trade.  Included with the cost of tuition is a culinary tool kit, which students can keep and use in their future jobs. 

Culinary Arts Professional

This program expands upon the skills and fundamentals learned in the Culinary Arts Specialist program. Upon completion, graduates will be able to find work as professional chefs, pastry chefs, dessert chefs, catering, restaurant, or food and beverage managers.  The Professional program offers twice as much classroom and kitchen time other programs, and an externship is also offered to help the student gain outside experience.  All of this makes Culinary Arts Professional students strong candidates for any job opening in the culinary field.
