The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone is pleased to offer two culinary arts programs at their Napa Valley/St. Helena campus. Prospective students may choose for a Certificate in Baking and Pastry Arts, or an Associate of Occupational Studies in Culinary Arts degree.
A leader in culinary training and education, The Culinary Institute of America first opened in 1946 as the New Haven Restaurant Institute of Connecticut. Originally providing vocational training to World War II veterans, the school had a total of 50 students. Since then, the school has blossomed into a premier culinary educational facility, with campuses in New York, Texas, and Napa Valley.
As The Culinary Institute of America is “dedicated to providing the world's best professional culinary education,” it should be no surprise that the school is known for producing quality graduates that are sought after by over 300 restaurants and companies.
Programs of Study
Baking & Pastry Arts - Certificate
A hands-on program the Certificate in Baking & Pastry Arts curriculum provides graduates with an in-depth look at the exciting world of baking and pastry arts. Designed to give graduates the basic skills needed in order to pursue a career in patisserie, the Baking & Pastry Arts Certificate program at CIA includes coursework in recipes, and production methods. As a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, you'll join a elite group of professionals that are well-grounded, and sought after by prospective employers.
Culinary Arts - Associate in Occupational Studies
A fast-paced learning program, the Associate in Occupational Studies - Culinary Arts degree from The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone can be completed in under 2 years! A hands-on culinary training curriculum, the AOS in Culinary Arts program includes instruction in interpersonal communication, cooking techniques, menu development, cost control, and world cuisines/ingredients. This Culinary Arts degree program is also accompanied with 1,300 hours in the kitchen, and an 18-week externship, giving graduates practical career-based training in a supportive educational environment.

The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone is accredited by the Middle States on Higher Education. In addition, the school works closely with the American Culinary Federation.
Financial Aid
With roughly 90 percent of CIA students receiving financial aid in some form or another, it's no surprise that The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone is home to a Financial Aid Department that is prepared to work with prospective and current students to help find funding options and apply for aid.
