About Aimes Academy

Aims Academy was founded in 1987 as a private career school for food services and culinary arts education. It is now one of Texas’s top ten schools for certification training and the only nationally accredited bartending school in Texas. Aims Academy now has four campuses and offers both traditional and on-line classes. Over 20,000 people have graduated from Aims.

Aims offers practical, hands-on career training to get you out of the classroom and into a job as quickly and efficiently as possible. At the same time, you leave school prepared to do that job well. You learn from industry professionals in small groups, allowing for plenty of interaction with the instructors. Some certification courses are offered online, making it possible for you to get job-related certification in a way that is quick, thorough and convenient.

Programs

dallas culinary schoolAims Academy offers a large menu of custom training for the food service and hospitality industries. Hobby cooks can take personal cooking classes at Aims, too. Additionally, Aims provides career training in bartending, food services and culinary arts.

Bartending: Aims College provides the only nationally accredited bartender certification class in Texas. There are two bartender classes: an online TABC (Texas Alcoholic Beverages Commission) Approved Seller Server class, and a professional bartending class. The server class satisfies state certification requirements and can be completed in just a few hours. The professional bartending class is a 14-day program that teaches you how to mix drinks with speed and skill, and how to give excellent service to patrons.

Food Services Certification: This two-day class prepares students for Texas Food Management Certification. The class is also available in an online format.

Culinary Arts: Aim Academy’s culinary arts program teaches French and American cooking in a 9-month, hands-on learning experience. Students learn knife skills, food service management, culinary skills, baking, pastry making and food production in small groups from professional chefs. The program uses a competency/mastery format. After completing the classroom portion of the program, students must also complete an internship at a local restaurant or hotel. Students who have not completed high school yet can earn a diploma concurrently with culinary arts certification.

Accreditation

Aims Academy is accredited through the former Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, now known as the Commission on Education (C.O.E.). The school is certified to provide bartender and server training by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. In addition, the professional bartending course is nationally certified by the Professional Bartending Schools Association. Aims is approved by the Texas Department of Health to provide food services training. It is also approved by the Texas Workforce Commission.
