Celebrity Chef Tour benefiting the James Beard Foundation
to Showcase James Beard Award Winner Chef Marc Vetri
at Elegant City Club in Washington, DC

The Celebrity Chef Tour benefiting the James Beard Foundation is delighted to announce that Celebrity Chef Marc Vetri, owner of the eponymous Vetri in Philadelphia, James Beard Award recipient and Food and Wine “Ten Best New Chefs List” honoree, will make his debut with the Tour at the beautifully-appointed City Club in the heart of DC. Along with Host Executive Chef Reid Badger, Chef Marc will share his passion for simple, yet pronounced flavors inspired by his native Italy at the City Club on Saturday, April 25th, 2009 at 7pm.

The reception and dinner promise to delight the palates of the most discriminating epicureans. Showcasing the talents Chefs Marc and Reid, highlights of the evening will include:

 An elegant reception, featuring unique hors d’oeuvres creations served with a complementary wine selection
 An innovative, one-of-a-kind multi-course dinner

Hi Diana,
Thank you for sharing the Celebrity Chef Tour to showcase Chef Marc Vetri. I am a big fan of Marc's new cookbook, Il Viaggio di Vetri Cookbook and will be a sponsor at his Vetri Foundation For Children upcoming Great Chefs Event to raise money for Alex's Lemonade Stand.

It is an incredible event where a group of top chefs, many James Beard Award Winners, get together to present samplings of their foods and give participants the opportunity to meet the chefs and taste their culinary delights. Some of the chefs participating this year include Tom Colicchio, Bobby Flay, Clark Fraiser, Mark Gaier, Masaharu Morimoto, Jeff Michaud, and a bunch more.

The money raised at this event, sold out last year by the way, will be used for research to find a cure for children with cancer. This is part of the vision of little Alex Scott, founder of Alex's Lemonade Stand who lost her battle with cancer but will live on forever with her idea to raise money for research one cup of lemonade at a time.
