A couple of nights ago we dined at our friends Lou and Madeline's home for Lou's famous chicken and they served this very tasty wine called Wine By Joe. I went to their web site to find out more about their wine and it said, "We have chosen to focus on the Three Pinots of Oregon fame – Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir. "
We were drinking the 2007 Pinot Noir with a suggested retail price of $19 and it was very good. Here is what they say about it -

Wine by Joe--I love it! I think it's great that they are specializing as opposed to trying to make a ton of different "okay" wines, they are focusing on making just a few great wines. And, hooray for Stelvin closures--no corked wine from these guys, I guess:)
If I can find it locally, I'll definitely give it a taste. The description of the Pinot Noir is mouthwatering! :D |

| OK ... I give up .... what is Pinot Gris? I'm acquainted with the Noir and the Blanc, but not the Gris :) |

Pinot Gris / Pinot Grigio is usually delicately fragrant and mildly floral with lightly lemon-citrus flavors. Depending upon ripeness at harvest and vinification technique, Pinot Gris can be tangy and light, or quite rich, round and full bodied. Made in an appropriate style, it is one dry white wine that may even age well. |
