How do you create a nutrition facts label? A nutrition facts label is required on most pre-packaged food in North America. How would someone go about creating one for one of their products?

>>labels

the basics are quite simple, list the ingredients in descending order of % content.

the details get more complex - such as allergy statements.

fda.gov and usda.gov are the sources - you might plow through the requirements there.

try caloriecount.com. http://www.calorie-count.com/calories/recipe_analysis.php to start.
I use it when I offer a recipe sometimes. I also check other recipes when the nutrition #s don't look right.
Basically, you enter the ingredients, amounts and how many servings, click calculate and BOOM, there it is.
It doesn't give you how much of what is the major part of your food, just the calories, carbs, fats ,sugars etc.
Hope this helps a little. Nancy
