I use them for a lot of things. Actual kitchen shears for heavy duty stuff like cutting up a whole chicken, trimming fat off meat slices & cutting raw meat into bite sizes for soups.
But I also use just plain scissors for cutting green onions, fresh herbs & making cubes out of bread slices. Any time I can use scissors instead of getting out the cutting board I do.
Sometimes when making last minute dinners I just throw still frozen chicken breasts into stock, then when they're cooked I use scissors to cut them up while they're still in the pot. No need to remove & cool to cut up.
And since I never can get anything open without it splitting down the middle, even the "easy open" ones, I use them to cut all chip, cereal, dry goods & frozen veggie bags. |

I have the cutco scissors and several knives. I use the scissors to cut herbs and snip them unless I need a lot chopped fine, then I use my herb chopper (similar to a coffee grinder)
I like my knives for meat and larger veges.
The scissors are in my knife rack, nice and handy! NT |
