We had chicken on the GF grill marinated in a balsamic/garlic dressing, rice and a lovely pear salad. Lettuce, pear slices, walnuts, cranberries, gorganzola cheese with a raspberry vinegrette. It sounds like an odd combo, but it is just lovely!
This was supposed to be my DD's graduation dinner (from Empire college), but she had to go straight from work to the grad place for photos etc.
I brought her dinner just in time! She had about 15 min to eat and was so hungry/nervous/excited that she was SHAKING!!!!!
LOOOOOOOONG boring ceremony, but she's done with school (for now)
We've got the payments! We've got the payments!! WoooooHooooo

Thanks! It was so nice to see her excell (3.94 GPA and perfect attendance!) She was always very timid about education! Always afraid of failure!

Tonight is steak on the grill (we finally hit 70* today) with gorganzola cheese melted on top! MMMMMMMMMMMM salad and a tater.

the east coast has been in the frying pan - and apparently we're headed back for another sear . . .

salmon patties & grits for us last night - plus a mega-salad with everything I could find!

That's going UP!!!!! It's been such a cold summer, I've only picked a few cherry tomatoes and some zuchini so far! I'm usually knee deep in veges by now!
And I'm in "sunny California"!

Grilled country ribs tonight. Not sure what with though.

Going to the Bohemian Grove Talent Show tomorrow. This is a "getaway" for the rich and famous held in the town we have our summer cabin( Monte Rio, population about 1100). For very rich, usually republican, men only. Lots of jets buzzing in and out of our little airport during these 2 weeks!
Art Linkletter used to host it. They raise a bunch of $ for the local fire dept and other groups.
This is actually the first time I've ever attended!

OMG Nancy .... there you go again! Off on some fabulous and fun adventure! Not the rich and famous part ... not big on that, but Bohemian Grove Talent Show just kind of makes ya think ... hmmmmm ... what in the heck is that anyway :) Plus it raises $$ for excellent causes. Have your normal great time and congrats to your DD on the graduation and great GPA!!

The Bohemian Club started out over 120 yrs ago in San Francisco. A bunch of 19th century "hippies". This turned around to be a bunch of rich guys! LOL
Some of the people that played were Marcus Lovett, Paul Brady, Sonny & Cher (for REAL!), Danny Wheatman, Roy Rogers, Tom Scott, Bobby Vickers, Elvis (for REAL), Terry Lopez and the feature band (the big surprise) The Zack Brown Band. There were a few others I didn't catch their names. A string quartet and an 88 YO violin payer, playing a Stratevarious (sp), who should have turned up his hearing aid ( but, HEY, he'd played the show for something like 50 years!
The local fire dept had an expensive BBQ, so we just split a deli sandwich and some chips.
