Hi Everyone: I have just started working in the culinary arts program at our local high school. You should see the new building built just for this program.....UNBELIEVABLE! If you are ever in ME, look me up and I will give you a personal tour. My question is.....does anyone know of any online course pertaining to dining room management/marketing/culinary? I will be working with students in the dining room AND running the bake shop as well as catering etc. Thanks in advance.

Hi 2collegekids,

Great having you in the community and I hope you keep us updated with your experiences and progress as you continue your culinary arts education.

I would also like to tell you about a great program I am involved with called Chefs4Students.net founded by a good friend of mine, Chef David Nelson. It is a non-profit organization set up to raise money for grants and scholarships for current students in culinary arts school.

I am excited to be part of the program and will be awarding the first Reluctant Gourmet Culinary Grant to a student this April. I will be talking a lot more about this as we get closer to the date.

Now, for you question. Did you check out my listings of on line hotel & restaurant management courses at http://www.reluctantgourmet.com/culinary_schools_online.htm

There are some very good schools listed there and should be a good start for you. Let me know if this helps.

RG

Thanks for the info. I will be starting a 90 hour hands-on course locally in the fall. I know I will learn lots from this. The chef is great!
