It's getting to be time to start planning the vege garden! AKKKK! I can't wait!
This year we have a landscaper coming in to double my vege garden raised beds (this was a barter for a sign my DH carved for his new nursery)
For my summer garden I do about 6 tomato plants, green beans, cucumbers, bell peppers, basil, lettuce (in shade).
With new beds being built, I will be adding an asparagus bed, corn, a couple of fruit trees, a shade bed (grow beans over a bed to plant shade plants) and an herb bed (my herbs are now in the greenhouse and in barrels)
I figure this isn't totally off topic because we eat all these veges!

| All I got fresh in-house is a pot of basil - but when reading your post it really makes me want to re-plant my garden.... |

I wish I knew how to post pictures!
My tomatoes are above my head. I'm getting about 5 a day + cherries. I'm going to be in BIG trouble in about 2 weeks! I get a quart of green beans about every other day (starting to freeze them for winter), I'm still getting enough broccoli from one plant to have it 1x per week
At least twice a week we just have salad (lettuce, basil, some spinach type stuff, radish, tomato, bell pepper, cucumber and eggs)
My eggplants are slow, but are forming nicely. I found the ferns from the newly planted asparagus, hopefully to be enjoyed next spring (they are 2 YO crowns)
I'm adding one more bed to plant winter veges (chard, more broccoli, brussel sprouts, spinach , more lettuce.....)
I just enjoy it soooo much! And it tastes good too!!!!!! All of the above was grown in one 8x8' and one 4x8' raised bed and I have room for more!

| I saw a post on freecycle (www.freecycle.org) down here in the Raleigh NC area offering tomatoes to folks for canning or just eating. They must be in the same situation you're in, Nancy! |
