How do I become a pastry chef? I am 28, and have been a professional Web Designer for the past 7 years, but I really love to bake and I feel that I may want to pursue this as a career. I live in NH and would like to attend part-time classes as well as possibly apprentice/intern with a pastry chef. Any suggestions on schools/programs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

estheriya, I suggest you do a search on my web site at http://www.reluctantgourmet.com/search.htm for "pastry chef" and read the articles and interviews posted by some very knowledgeable chefs about becoming a pastry chef.
You may also want to check out the New England Culinary Institute

And be sure to go to http://www.reluctantgourmet.com/baking_pastry_chef_schools.htm to learn about other baking schools near you. If you have any other questions, please send me an email from my web page.
