Worked yesterday as it was month-end. Got home around 5:30 and had company at 5:35. They hung out for a couple of hours and our five trick or treaters (first time in years!!) After they left, I made ham, smoked turkey, and Swiss paninis and we watched the rest of the baseball game. Today I'm going to make either hamburger gravy to have over baked taters, or some kind of hamburger something with some kind of veggie. Now that almost sounds like a plan ...

Suppose to go to the World Series tonight but after a rainy night with the kids trick and treating, I'm feeling under the weather and asked my wife to go in my place. I went to the Series last year and she has never been so this will be a great experience for her. I'm going to prepare roasted salmon for the kids tonight. Go Phillies!

We had scallops (on sale on payday!), mushroom risoto and salad from the garden. The tomatoes are finally giving up, getting munched on by something.

I really wanted to love scallops, but the one time I had them at a japanese place they were so fishy tasting I couldn't eat more then one bite of one.

NatalieAE, did you eat them raw? My experience with scallops is they taste sweet and since I usually cook them with garlic, they pick up that flavor. My daughters love them with butter and I can assure you would not eat them if they tasted fishy.

No, they were cooked in some way, but I don't recall exactly how.

Ohhhh, I love scallops whenever I can afford them! Very sweet and.....light tasting, but FILLING! I bought 4 for each of us, but only needed 3!
Sometimes I get the little frozen ones from Trader Joes to add to a salad for a pretty nice salad dinner (along with some shrimp) and some bread! MMMMMMMMM

Do you prefer bay scallops or sea scallops?

We prefer sea scallops, but only the dry kind. We tried "wet" once and they are not good at all. Anyhew .... I would think the small bay scallops would be kinda hard to cook, or rather too easy to overcook.
