Tomato and Basil Pasta a la Sarah
Hello Reluctant Gourmet,
I have been watching your page evolve for the past several months and I think that you have the best web page available for us amateur cooks. Unfortunately, being a young person just out of university, I do not have a lot of recipes to share with you (thank goodness your site is around, because that is where I get most of my recipes!).
However, there is one very simple recipe that I make a lot that might be of interest to your readers. Here goes:
INGREDIENTS
- One Tomato per person
- Bunch of Fresh Basil
- Olive Oil
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Fettucine or other similar pasta
PREP WORK
Dice the tomatoes as finely as possibly.
Chop the basil leaves finely.
HOW TO MAKE AT HOME
Place in a sauce pan on low heat, along with some olive oil.
Add the tomatoes and basil.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve over al dente pasta with lots of fresh parmesan cheese. Delicious!
You can add just about anything to this sauce. I have tried onions and garlic for more flavor. Both were tasty. I also think you could use this sauce for bruschetta.
That's all for now. Keep up the excellent work on your site!
Warm Regards,
Sarah,
Thanks Sarah for this quick and easy recipe and your comments about the site. RG
