About Provo College
Provo College’s emphasis is on providing instruction that will effectively prepare students to careers in an accelerated timeframe. Students learn skills that employers want and that will directly benefit them in their careers. Provo College students graduate ready to work. Provo also helps students prepare resumes and practice interviewing skills. The Life Long Learning Program lets graduates take refresher courses free of charge so they can maintain an outstanding level of education and training. Provo offers programs in healthcare, health and wellness, business, criminal justice, design and technology, and hospitality management.
Provo College accepts some high school credits and also grants credit for Advanced Placement courses.
Faculty
Provo College is a small school, with fourteen full-time faculty members. Class sizes are also small – the total school population is about 656 students – so every member of the college community is given personalized instruction in a comfortable learning environment. Faculty members get to know each of their students by name and can better help them achieve their individual goals. Provo was named Fort Utah when it was settled by thirty-three Mormon families in 1849. The name was changed in 1850 after Etienne Provost, a French Canadian trapper.
