Culinary Arts – Associate of Science: A hands-on training program, the AS in Culinary Arts program is designed to equip graduates with the skills needed in order to seek employment in a variety of culinary settings. Culinary Arts – Certificate: Ideal for anyone wishing to explore the world of culinary arts, students in the Certificate in Culinary Arts program will be exposed to a broad range of skills and techniques involved in basic cookery. From food preparation to nutrition, knife sharpening to presentation, hands-on training in this program prepares students for entry-level jobs such as first cook, line cook or prep cook. In addition to these skills students of the Culinary Arts Certificate program will also study food and beverage management, sanitation/safety, purchasing, and management by menu.
Baking and Pastry – Certificate & Associate of Science Degree: Available as a Certificate program, the Baking and Pastry curriculum at The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Indianapolis focuses on the fundamentals of pastry and bread-baking. In addition to these topics, students also study cake decoration, desserts, all-purpose baking and pastry arts. Upon completion, students are prepared to seek employment in catering houses, bakeries, and restaurants as an assistant baker or pastry cook.
