About Platt College
Platt College offers programs in allied health care, nursing, and culinary arts that are intended to prepare students for careers in the real world. Platt College is committed to tailoring the educational experience to the needs of each individual student. Platt College has three dining establishments in Oklahoma City: Chefs Di Domani, Café Broccato, and Foundations Restaurant. Culinary students work under the supervision and direction of professional chefs to serve the Oklahoma City community. Many of the professional chefs working in the restaurants are Platt College graduates.
The Moore College campus offers a diploma in Pastry Arts for students aspiring to become professional pastry artists or bakers. Students in the Pastry Arts Program have the opportunity to bake artisan breads, make desserts, and create pastries from scratch. Students in the program will also study sanitation, nutrition, and safety management to prepare for a career in a professional bakery setting.
The Pastry Arts Program offers small class sizes and hands-on experience so that students can learn closely from professional faculty members. The Associate of Science in Pasty Arts degree is designed to be completed in approximately nine months and consists of 61.5 quarter credit hours. The program aims to provide career placement assistance and equip students with the necessary skills to work in a restaurant, grocery store, catering company, or professional bakery.
Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Students seeking financial aid are required to meet with a Platt Financial Services Officer upon applying for admission. Financial aid options offered at Platt include Direct and Federal Family Education Loans, Federal Pell Grants, and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants. Platt’s three restaurants in Oklahoma are important facilities connected to their culinary and pastry arts programs. Students have the opportunity to gain real-world experience while working in the restaurants underneath the supervision of a professional.
Chefs Di Domani Restaurant is located right off of John Kilpatrick Turnpike and offers high end dishes that are a mix of American and Internationally-influenced cuisine. The menu includes pastas, seafood, steak, and many more appetizers and main dishes.
Café Broccato is an Italian restaurant staffed by current Platt students and graduates. Café Broccato offers breakfast, lunch, and brunch meals that are influenced by Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. The café includes a self-serve pasta bar, an expansive desert menu, and a signature sun-dried tomato pesto pizza.
Platt’s Foundations Restaurant offers modern American fine dining provided by their up-and-coming student chefs. Popular menu items at Foundations Restaurants include their grilled ribeye of beef and lemon chiffon cake.
Platt College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). The Associate of Science in Culinary Arts and Pastry Arts Programs are accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission (ACFEFAC).
