Programs of Study
Art of Cooking - Diploma
The Art of Cooking diploma program is a 51 quarter-credits course in basic kitchen skills and food science. In addition at AI - Salt Lake City students will learn about American cuisine, making sauces, cooking meat, preparing vegetables, and recipe development.
This diploma program include training in ServSafe sanitation and safety as well as job seeking skills. Graduates of the Art of Cooking - Diploma course of study are typically ready to work in entry-level food service positions.
Baking and Pastry - Diploma
Available as a Diploma course of study, the Baking and Pastry program is a 49 quarter-credit course that focuses on the skills necessary for working in a bakery, including making breads, desserts, and cakes. Coursework also includes training in ServSafe sanitation and safety as well as job seeking skills. Upon graduation, students are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed in order to seek entry-level employment in the culinary arts.
Culinary Management - Bachelor of Science
Available as a Bachelor of Science degree program, the Culinary Management curriculum at The Art Institute of California - Inland Empire is designed to give graduates the skills needed for entry-level management and supervisory roles in the food service industry. Combining coursework in human resources, food safety, technology, and communication, the Culinary Management program also instills leadership skills in graduates that are vital for the workplace. While much of the coursework takes place in a classroom environment, this curriculum culminates in a hands-on externship in the culinary arts field.
Baking and Pastry - Associate of Science
While similar to the standard associate culinary arts degree, this program is focused on the baking and pastry preparation. Each student will be put in a practical kitchen environment under expert instruction to learn baking and pastry techniques.
Instructors will also give students a foundation in such things as desserts, cake adornment, and advanced pastry techniques. With this education that includes critical thinking, successful graduates will be able to join the food service industry in entry-level positions such as line cook, pastry cook and pantry cook in food service establishments as restaurants and resorts both locally and internationally.
Culinary Arts - Associate of Science
The Art Institute of Salt Lake City is proud to offer an Associate of Science in Culinary Arts degree program. Skills training focuses on moving from basic skills through advanced culinary methods and theory. The bulk of the coursework takes place in the kitchen doing hands-on learning. Students of the AS in Culinary Arts curriculum also participate in two externships in local restaurants, hotels, or clubs before graduation, which provide essential real-world training in a supportive educational learning environment.

Accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, The Art Institute of Salt Lake City has the authority to grant Associate of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees. In addition, the Art Institute of Salt Lake City is accredited by the American Culinary Federation.
