About Sullivan University
As an educational facility, Sullivan University has been in operation for over 45 years. It is a private, for-profit organization with the goal of developing intellectual, social, and professional skills in all of its students. The school first opened in Louisville, Kentucky in 1962 as Sullivan Business College, a one-year training course designed to create young professionals ready to enter the working world. One decade later, the college began to award degrees, shifting its focus to a more general-education approach than strict vocational training. It was the first private career college in the South to get regional accreditation, and soon after it was awarded that distinction, the school began to incorporate higher-level degrees into the curriculum. The BA Hospitality Management course is designed to be a “topping” to an existing Associate degree in anything from the culinary arts and travel and tourism to restaurant management – provided it comes from Sullivan University or an accredited facility that is recognized by the school.
