1997 Thanksgiving Menu

My wife and I decided on this menu after seeing one like it in the paper for a local restaurant. We made some changes, but they should work well with the season and the ingredients available.
Since we just agreed on the menu and research will need to be done, I'll start with the soup and add more each day until I have it complete (hopefully by Thanksgiving). Our one major mistake was we forgot to serve the cranberry sauce until round two when we found it still in the kitchen. There was so much food, none of our guests seemed to notice. So here it is:
Soup
Puree of butternut squash with pear & rosemary
Salad
Seasonal French pears, mesclun, toasted pine nuts and gorgonzola
Entree
Herb crusted oven roasted turkey
Served With
Cornbread stuffing with fennel sausage and walnuts
Sweet winter peas and pearl onions
Roasted garlic and smoked bacon mashed potatoes with yams
Fresh cranberry-orange sauce
