COURSES
Hospitality CertificateThe Hospitality Certificate program at CDI College introduces students to areas of the hotel and food services industry. Each course will introduce students to separate aspects of the hospitality field like housekeeping, management, food/beverage services, and hotel security. The Certificate includes five hospitality modules. If you would like, you can upgrade to either the Hospitality Operations diploma or Hospitality Management diploma to receive more training. Upon graduation you will receive the Hospitality Certificate, as well as credits towards American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) diploma, which can be transferred to many other schools. |
Hospitality ManagementThe Hospitality Management program at CDI College offers students training in several areas of the hotel and food services industry. Each course will introduce students to separate aspects of the hospitality field like hospitality field such as housekeeping management, food/beverage services, and hotel security. Graduates have found work in restaurants and hotels as managers, supervisors, and other crucial positions. Upon graduation you will not only receive a Hospitality Management diploma, but also earn an American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) diploma, which is transferable to many schools. You also receive certification in BC FoodSafe and Serving It Right. |
Hospitality OperationsThe Hospitality Operations program at CDI College will introduce you to several areas of the hotel and food services industry. Each course is designed to introduce students to different aspects of the hospitality field such as housekeeping management, food and beverage services, hotel security and much more. The diploma consists of any eight hospitality modules, Student Success Strategies, Career and Employment Strategies and Practicum modules. Graduates may find work in restaurants and hotels as managers or supervisors. Students also receive certification in BC Foodsafe and Serving It Right. |
Event PlannerEvent planners handle the creative design, planning, and execution of special events – from weddings and conferences, to outdoor festivals, black-tie galas, and concerts. Event managers can end up superving décor teams, lighting/audio technicians, as well as responsibilities for budgets/financial management, resource planning, contracts/negotiations, and human resources management. The Event Planner program will introduce you to the special events industry and the processes needed to successfully manage event production. Student membership with the International Special Events Society of Canada (ISES) is also included. |
Travel TourismThe travel and tourism industry is one of the fastest growing career opportunities - in Canada and around the world. CDI College's Travel and Tourism program teaches the skills you need to succeed in this rising field such as world geography, sales and marketing skills, computer training, and customer service. You will acquire skills like the operation of Apollo and SABRE, the two main computer systems used in Canadian travel agencies. You'll also learn about tariffs and travel agency operations, cruises, and ticketing. Salary ranges for these roles depend on a lot of factors, but travel and tourism jobs can be very lucrative. |
