    Christmas Gift Ideas for Home

What To Give Your Favorite Home Cook This Year?

I love this time of year because of all the exciting new kitchen products that come on the market. Take a look at some of these great gift ideas for friends, family or co-workers.  If you are just looking for some great stocking stuffers, check out my Stocking Stuffer Idea page.  I have also been browsing through the catalogs and reporting on what Caught My Eye. For all my favorite cooking items, go to my Cook's Resources page.

A great way to start the gift giving is opening your stocking. A great place to get creative. Here's were you really surprise your favorite cook with a great kitchen gadget that they are going to love. Here are some ideas.

    Popular Gifts This Year

    x kindle

Kindle Wireless Reading Device  Now you can have all your favorite cookbooks and cooking magazines in one device. With search features for finding favorite recipes using particular ingredients, I'm hoping Santa reads my web site and brings one to me this year.

x kitchenaid stand mixer  KitchenAid 5-qt. Pro 5 Plus Stand Mixer This is a fantastic machine for home cooks who want to take their baking and cooking to a new level. Priced affordably, but with all the features of a high-end machine. Be sure to read my review of this here.

    x lecreuset cookware

Le Creuset 5-Piece Cookware Set: Cherry  Save over $200.00 on this incredible set of gorgeous enamel cookware.

x keurig b60 Keurig Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System  If you are thinking of purchasing a large appliance like a new refrigerator, oven or even a large screen tv for the kitchen, you'll want to check out these articles I've written about the subject.

    z instant read thermometer

Instant Read Thermometer  The Super-Fast Thermapen has been a favorite among restaurant chains for years.  This new generation Thermapen introduces a robust, splash-proof design with molded-in seals to protect the thermometer from wet hands and kitchen splashes.  Just open the probe and the Thermapen comes on, close it and it shuts off.

    Cookware

Whether someone is just learning how to cook or is an experienced old pro, believe me, it's always nice to get a new piece of cookware. The technology changes so quickly and it seems every year there is some new material or design worth owning. Here are some great examples of cookware you may want to consider putting under someone's tree this year.

    x lecreuset iron oven

Le Creuset Cast Iron French Oven  I have this exact Le Creuset Cast Iron French Oven and I love it. I have made a lot of great stews, pot roasts & braises in it.

Because it is made of cast iron, similar to a Dutch oven, it heats quickly, retains the heat and is perfect for cooking anything slowly with low heat.

Use it on your stove top, in the oven, gas, electric and it is even dishwasher safe.

    x viking starter

Viking Starter Set  The photo above is of a Viking starter set but there are lots of great companies making pots & pans.

I recommend you looking at Viking, Calphalon & All-Clad for starting out. They are all top quality and you won't go wrong with any of them.
