Course: Marinade
Cuisine: American
Keyword: greek yogurt, marinade
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh oregano or thyme chopped or 1 teaspoon dried
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
In a bowl, mix all ingredients until smooth and well combined.
Place meat in a zip-top bag or shallow dish and coat evenly with the marinade.
Seal or cover and refrigerate for the recommended time (see notes below).
Remove meat from marinade and shake off excess before grilling.
Chicken: Marinate for 1 to 4 hours. Great for juicy, tender chicken breasts or thighs.
Pork: Marinate for 2 to 6 hours. Perfect for pork chops or tenderloin.
Beef: Use on leaner cuts only; marinate for 1 to 3 hours. Avoid over-marinating as yogurt can break down texture.
