Merlot Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 shallot minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup Merlot wine
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup demi glace
  • 2 ounces heavy cream
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Heat up a sauce pan and when hot, add the butter.
  • Sauté the shallot in the butter on medium high heat for 3 - 4 minutes.
  • Add the Merlot and thyme, and reduce by three quarters.
  • Add the demi glace and simmer for a few minutes.
  • Whisk in the heavy cream.
  • Taste and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
