    Cuisinart Smart Stick Review

    Cuisinart Smart Stick Review

The Loss of an Old Friend - My Hand Blender

After taking an hour or two to mourn the loss of my twenty-year relationship with my old Braun hand blender, I thought it was time to get back in the game and find a replacement.

I logged onto to Amazon Prime that very same day, hoping to find another Braun model. But, I found that they only sell 220 volt Braun blenders that won’t work in the United States. I already own a bunch of other small kitchen appliances by Cuisinart, and the reviews on Amazon for their Smart Stick Hand Blender were outstanding, so I decided to make the purchase.

Normally, when you puree something, you have to take a hot pan off the stove and pour the ingredients into your food processor or blender. With a hand blender, you save time and mess by taking the appliance right to the food that you want to blend.

The Cuisinart has a 200-watt motor that can blend, chop, and puree just about anything you might want for a soup, smoothie, or sauce.

    Low - High Buttons

You can activate the Cuisinart’s blending potential by the simple touch of either the “low” or “high” button on the upper handle. As soon as you release the button, the motor will immediately stop.

The instructions state that the Cuisinart has a limit on how long it can continuously run, but this should never be a problem because it doesn’t take long for the appliance to get the job done.

The blade is designed for mixing and blending all types of foods, and will be great for making all my soups and sauces. You really don’t need to do much but press a button and step back and let the smart stick work its magic.

So, if you currently own a hand blender that makes you feel like you’re doing all the work, it’s time to switch over to Cuisinart.

    Convenient Features

The most convenient feature of the Cuisinart Smart Stick is that it comes with a detachable shaft that makes it easy to stick the blade portion in the dishwasher or rinse it by hand. The gadget also comes with both a whisk and chopper attachment that will snap easily into the base of the appliance when you press the release button on the back.

One of the reviews on Amazon summed up the Cuisinart pretty well: “this small appliance is inexpensive, very versatile and easy to store. It works very well for multiple food preparation applications”

CautionA word of caution: as with all electrical appliances with sharp blades, especially hand blenders, you never want to go near the blade when it’s still plugged in. Before you unclog or clean excess food from the blender, be sure the appliance is unplugged to avoid any accidental misfortunes. Keep this away from kids—it may look like a toy, but it’s not.

This is a great kitchen gadget that works effectively, takes up a small amount of space in the pantry, and is easy to clean. So, here’s to another twenty-years with my new and improved hand blender. I wonder what they'll look like in 2033?

Where to Buy a Cuisinart Smart Stick?

I purchased mine at Amazon but I'm sure you can find one in your local department store or kitchen gadget store. This is a very popular brand and one of the best rated by reviewers so it should be readily available.

    onlinesources: Small Kitchen Appliances

There are lots of sources for purchasing quality small kitchen appliances including blenders, toaster and mixers.  I suggest you check out your local department stores and kitchen supply shops but if you're looking for a wide selection of products and prices, you may want to check out Amazon.com where I buy many of my favorite pieces of cookware.
