7. Brown Rice

Brown rice is a whole grain rice. It is produced when just the husk is removed from a grain of rice. Brown rice is not another species or variety of rice, it just retains all the good content that is normally removed during white rice processing.

When producing white rice, both the bran layer and germ are removed, which strips away some of the nutritional value, leaving behind just the starch-heavy endosperm. This is why people prefer brown rice as a healthier alternative—it has more layers that include healthy benefits such nutritional minerals, vitamins, and fatty acids.
